How to connect is always on my mind. I appreciate the writing prompts given. I 'll have to use them this week, for sure! Oh and boy can I relate with not being able to travel on holiday school breaks! My son has been friends with 5 other boys since Freshman year they have lived together or on the same floor. This semester three of them are studying abroad in Japan, China, and London and for Spring Break he wanted to go to London because another friend was going to visit the one in London and he wanted to not be the only one that didn't get to travel overseas. I'm like hey, you got tuition paid for, i can't afford to send you to party in London for two weeks!

This is a fantastic explanation of connection. I completely agree that we need to create content for people and put ourselves out there. We all connect with the human experience. It is hard to be vulnerable but it is necessary.

yeah, showing oneself vulnerable, human, with weak points (and being financially limited seems to me THE weakest points of all in our society...) is one of the biggest challenge - they whole brand industry wouldn't survive one single day without our fears to be experienced by others as a person who doesn't have the means to ....(fill in whatever comes into your mind...)

BUT IN MY point of view HERE is where our chance in times of AI is to find: showing struggles, or showing limitations, showing others how to cope with demanding phases... without going into extremes. I appreciate peoples choices to life that Walden life... buying a scratch of land and a run down house in the middle of nowhere ... but this would not be a way for me.

I burdened my family with the decision to move into my inherited childhood home 90km from Vienna. The bullebü aesthetic didn't last long. Financial struggles - no proper jobs for people lile me - until just a few years ago, thx to me accepting very long commuting times. And we made no excuse: financial struggles led to relationship struggles.

And suddenly bigger daughter is about to finish school - and you have to realize the idea of living a peaceful life in the country did not came to reality. It was struggles from moving here ... and just recently it started to become a easier... little by little...

for me I will always share this - but here too: I had to learn I am not alone - MY daughters do NOT want me to share my struggles.

THEY want to have to most common mum possible: Can't you put your insta private? I was asked several times during the last 10y.

They not only need an iphone or fancy holiday trips, they also need a proper mum not to be seen on social media - at least not if you are not a big influencer...

Here I will not always give in, but at least for some time my content will be "curated"😂
